Planning for a party at your house for kids and looking for an easy non-veg starter then this Fish Ball recipe is just ideal for you. Though the process is a little time consuming but you can prepare and store the Fill Balls in advance and fry and serve them as and when required.

  • Ingredients
  • Bhetki /Baramundi or Any other fish of your choice – 500 gms
  • Onion Paste – ½ cup
  • Onion – 3 (Very finely chopped)
  • Garlic Paste – 2 ½ tsp
  • Ginger Paste – 1 ½ tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
  • Egg – 2 nos
  • All Purpose Flour – 3-4 Tbsp
  • Bread Crumb – 1 cup or as required
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – To taste
  • Oil – 3-4 tsp + for frying the fish pieces + for deep frying the fish balls
  • Chopped Coriander Leaf – ½ cup
  1. Instructions
  2. Marinate the fish with turmeric powder and salt for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Now you can lightly fry the fish pieces and debone them, or you can steam the fish and debone them. Carefully debone them and keep aside.
  4. Heat 3-4 tsp oil in a kadai and add chopped onion. Once the onion turns pink add ginger paste, garlic past. Sauté till oil starts to separate.
  5. Now add onion paste and fry till the masala turns light brown.
  6. Now add deboned and crumbled fish. Mix well.
  7. Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder and chopped green chilli. Cook for another 7-8 minutes under medium heat.
  8. Adjust salt. Add chopped coriander leaf. Mix well.
  9. Take out in a big bowl and let it cool completely.
  10. Beat two eggs in a bowl adding pepper powder and salt.
  11. Take all purpose flour in a bowl and bread crumb in another bowl.
  12. When fish cools down take a small portion from fish filling and roll on the flour.
  13. Now dip in the egg wash and coat them with bread crumb.
  14. Prepare all the fish balls like this. Keep the fish balls in a container and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes. You can store the fish balls like this if you plan for any party in your house. And can fry and serve them hot as and when required.
  15. After 15-20 minutes heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the fish balls.
  16. Serve with tomato sauce and green salad of your choice.
